Seller's Notes:Vintage from the 1950s Mid Century Modern Castro Convertible table, circa late 1950s. This Handsome Castro Convertable Coffee Table rises for an occasion . As a coffee Table its top is 16 inches above the ground. With a pull of a Castro patented Lever on the underside this table now rises to a standard dining table height of 29 inches tall. Unfold it’s attached leaf to now double it’s top to 48 inches square. This table is built incredibly well, very durable and heavy! The spider style table legs are made from solid wood and are spring loaded. The durable, easy to maintain laminate top surface is in excellent condition. The adjustable metal mechanisms and supports below have been lubricated and move with reasonable ease. Easy to adjust with a hand crank on the underside of the table. Classic Mid Century Modern design, ideal for use in live-work spaces, small apartments, craft rooms, boats, dorm rooms, and much more. Studio apartment dwellers can use this as a coffee table by day, crank the lever and flip the top, now you’ve got a dining table that comfortably seats 4-6 people.
