Choosing a used chair is no small task — after all, you can pick from accent chairs, dining chairs, AND office chairs, and honestly the lines dividing these categories are starting to blur as some people find dining chairs they want to use with a desk, or desk chairs they love with their dining room furniture, or even putting a bench on one side of a dining table and different mismatched chairs across from it. As I’m sure you’re getting, by now, the chair options are limitless.
Here are a few of our favorite dining chairs:
Our favorite? The West Elm dane dining chair. With a sleek design, circular back, the chair is inviting, modern, and stylish. The Eames fiberglass chairs are also a must, and organic modernism makes a set inspired by the original design that fits a bit of a friendlier price tag! Acrylic dining chairs are also always a cool option! We love more classic silhouettes for a dining room though and the West Elm orb dining chair in particular has our hearts, especially as it comes in so many colors, fitting virtually any dining room. Restoration hardware also has tons of classic designs, including the vintage French square dining chairs and Morgan barrelback armchairs. If you’re going for more of a rustic vibe, we recommend sticking with leather chairs, like the west elm slope leather dining chairs. If you’re looking for comfy, classic, and simple, the ikea Henriksdal chairs are also a great choice.
Here are a few of our favorite office chairs:
The best bang for your buck? Definitely the CB2 office chair. Guaranteed quality without the Eames price tag (though we can’t lie, we love the Eames office chair, and if you can afford it, we say spoil yourself and go for it!). Rustic vibes? The Pottery Barn Mitchell swivel desk chair is a go-to because of its brown leather! Definitely a classic office chair option. The Cb2 grey tweed chair is also great, and could definitely double as a dining room chair option. If you’re looking for an office chair that screams SEO and also is fun to swivel in when you’re bored between conference calls, check out the ikea Markus swivel chair and thank us later. The ikea Renberget office chair is another great option with tons of cushion and back support after a long day!
Here are a few of our favorite accent chairs:
The West elm Carlo mid-century chair (we love the distressed velvet one) is a classic. The silhouette is perfect for any mid-century living room, and we love the gold legs that carry this chair. The cb2 triumph chalk lounge chair is cool because its armless design makes it appear extra sleek (maybe not as practical, BUT IT LOOKS COOL AND WE LIKE IT). And if you’re looking for the perfect classic lounger, the Eames chair is, of course, an absolute icon. If you’re prioritizing comfort, restoration hardware has a variety of leather chairs (the library leather chair will have you sinking so deep your friends may lose you and wonder where you’ve gone). The West elm mid century modern show wood leather chair is also a great option for comfort and style, as well as the Lucas swivel chair (who doesn’t love a chair that swivels, honestly?) Cb2 also has some cool rattan basket accent chairs if your home decor style is more natural!
