Seller's Notes:Unique Calligraphy created by Professor and Master Cheng Man-Ch'ing in 1971 as a gift to my father, who was Chief of Station of Army Technical Group in Taipei, Taiwan. Professor Cheng was known as the Master of Five Excellences: Chinese medicine, poetry, painting, calligraphy and Tai Chi Chuan. He brought the art of Tai Chi to the United States in 1964. Two of Master Cheng's artist seals are on the Calligraphy: his Man Jan or Beautiful Whiskers seal depicting his long sideburns (upper seal) and a pictorial seal characterizing the artist with his birth year (the cat) and the crazy tiger head (lower seal, upper left quadrant). His signature appears next to the seals. Two different translations are affixed to the back of the artwork. The first is by Master Cheng and the second is by one of his students. The Calligraphy is in the original frame with beautiful brass hangars and a silk matte.
