Seller's Notes:This item is made out of an old beam of Elgon Teak, which is indigenous to Kenya. I made it while living in Kenya. Elgon Team is an extremely complex and hard wood. It has very sophisticated grain structure. The only machines used in the production of this items is a chainsaw that was used to cut the piece to size, and then an orbital sander for sanding. All the shaping was done by hand tools. The finish is a simple linseed oil. If you would like an additional layer of protection, I can add water-based polyurethane or polyacrylic before shipping.
