The only signs of wear and tear are the butt prints on the cushions :) I'm moving and it won't fit in my new apartment :( This is a sectional that comes with an unused extra square cushion in case you want it to be a straight couch (minus the chaise/sectional) - you just unscrew the extension from underneath and swap out the rectangle cushion for the square cushion (check out photos 8 and 9). This square cushion has never been used and has no butt print!
