Seller's Notes:Set of five classic, Midcentury Modern, authentic, Hans J. Wegner "CH-24" Wishbone chairs from the Carl Hansen & Sons production in the late 1970s/early 1980s in beech, painted black, and papercord, in good condition. Lightly refinished and with new papercord. Label underneath seat. Simply referred to as "The Chair" by connoisseurs of Danish mid-century design for its iconic status in the canon of Scandinavian modern furniture, Hans J. Wegner's "Wishbone chair" or "Y chair" was designed in 1949 and first put into production by Carl Hansen & Son in 1950. When designing the CH24 chair, Wegner wanted to combine the backrest and armrests into one single piece. To support the steam-bent top, he developed the classic Y-shaped back, which earned the chair the name Wishbone. The end result was an elegant and graceful chair with seating comfort in a class of its own. These were from one of the final--if not THE FINAL--Danish run. As you can tell by the photo these were made in Denmark. These are NOT made in China.
