1964 Zenith Stereophonic Hi-Fi Console Stereo/Credenza
Product details
Seller's Notes:A 1965 Zenith Stereophonic Hi-Fi Console Stereo that is is excellent vintage condition and it actually does work. For those who love Mid Century Modern style and vintage electronics, this is a dream come true. There is a humming sound from the speakers, but I was told that the capacitors may need to be replaced, as that is common with the older tube style electronics. The turntable does work and play records, but the auto play feature in which they drop and the tone arm automatically lifts and plays the record could stand to be fine tuned and the tuner does actually pull in radio stations. I was able to locate a person locally that specializes in vintage electronics and is able to replace the capacitors and fix the mechanism to allow the auto play. They don't make them like this anymore, so it's very difficult to find someone who specializes in the care and maintenance of vintage electronics. I took great care of the cabinet and it's in great condition considering its age, but I also think that it adds character to the overall piece as well !!! It's an excellent conversation piece and one I feel would be a great addition to a home that has a Mid Century Modern decor, as this is an original piece from that era. It would also make a great credenza for someone who simply wanted to remove the stereo and reconfigure the interior for storage.
