At AptDeco, not only do we spend time browsing online for the latest AptDeco finds, but we also love seeking out vintage finds IRL. Today, we’re specifically focusing on vintage furniture stores in New Jersey.
As a young renter who recently moved into their first apartment, I was tasked with finding cool, unique items while simultaneously trying to ball on a budget. Being born and raised in Northern New Jersey, here is a list of the top places I frequent when on the search for cool secondhand items. Plus, some of my recent treasures from these shops!
1. Abram Demaree Homestead & Farm
110 Schraalenburgh Rd, Closter, NJ
The Lowdown: Abram Demaree Homestead & Farm provides the perfect rustic, upstate shopping experience while being close to the city. Located on an old family farm, it’s the perfect backdrop for sifting through vintage furniture and decor items. They have two buildings full of treasures. One contains a wide variety of items (including a section for vintage books and clothing) with a lower price point. The other building is more highly curated and a beautiful spot for seasoned vintage shoppers. No matter your interests, there is something for everyone at this lovely rustic spot!
While you’re there, head to La Tabatiere for coffee and pastries. I always get the Kouign Amann. You will not be disappointed!
Price: $$—Overall very affordable. A wide range of antique dealers sell their items here, so prices vary. Some prices are firm while others you can negotiate. Example pricing: $200 for an antique steamer trunk.

The Lowdown: This is a smaller, more curated shop by a local who grazes estate sales and loves vintage. The owner has a great eye for vintage furniture pieces as well as decor items. While furniture items typically sell quickly, she has a wide selection of tabletop items that add a lot to any space. This is the perfect shop for a casual shopper as the owner does a great job creating artful vignettes with her items.
Price: $$-$$$—For furniture, prices range depending on brand and quality. Decor items are moderately priced. Example pricing: $135 for a vintage burlwood veneer console.

These lamps are some of the first items I bought for my apartment. They were each $15! I thought this platter with the little people was adorable. Bonus! It’s actually a designer find from Cynthia Rowley’s home collection. Also love these little $2 dishes that I put out with cocktail nuts!
